About

I'm a binge-eating recovery coach who helps women make peace with food (and themselves).

Welcome! I’m Satomi

“What?!”

Aaaaand, we do this through hypnotism.

I hear you. Did you know I moonlight as a mind-reader? (Kidding!)

You’re thinking:
・“I’m way too intellectual for hypnotism to work for me,”
・“That sounds like some weird subconscious work!”
・“How do you know if it’s even real?!”

I know this is what you’re thinking because that was my initial reaction too. But — 18 years into my journey with disordered eating, after I’d tried literally everything else, I went in for one hypnotherapy session and something profound happened.

Wait wait wait — let me set the stage a little better, so you see how absolutely shocking this was…

For years, I believed that eating healthy and clearing trauma would eventually heal my eating disorder. I tried everything.

・Psychotherapy
・Psychoanalysis
・Psychiatrists
・Medication
・Yoga
・NLP
・Willpower
・Overeaters Anonymous
・Spiritual counseling
・Psychics
・Exercise
・Religion
・Energy healing
・Breathwork
・Trauma healing
・Family therapy

With each modality I tried, I thought I’d found The Holy Grail — the solution to all my problems — because each one helped me tackle one piece of the problem. But each time I had to cope with something hard, I slid back into binging. It was two steps forward and one step back.

Why traditional therapies may not be working for you

Traditional therapies focus on the mind, and modern medicine often fails to provide customized solutions that consider individualized root causes.
Expertise Gaps in Traditional Treatment is another thing.

・Doctors might not teach holistic techniques to manage anxiety and feel centered.
・Therapists may lack knowledge in restoring functions affected by disordered eating, such as how to restore hunger and satiety cues.
・Intensive Treatment Centers often focus on immediate recovery but may not equip you with habits for deep, sustainable transformation.

While these treatments are vital, they might not provide all the solutions you need for full recovery.

I needed something that could help with everything — from healing childhood wounds to managing the anger and emotions of binging itself.

Hypnotherapy is what finally stopped the binging and gave me the tools to catch the unconscious thought before taking action. It’s what finally gave me the tools to self-soothe and self-heal without relying on food.

Current scientific estimates are that 95% of brain activity is unconscious — which means habits, patterns, emotions, beliefs, are mostly bubbling beneath the surface.

With hypnotherapy, you make your subconscious your ally, which makes building new habits, and changing old patterns, easier.

After my first hypnotherapy session, I felt rewired to begin a new chapter.
And part of that chapter is helping you recover from binge-eating too.

Unlike other addictions, treating eating disorders requires unique approaches that involve reprogramming the subconscious, building healthy habits, and healing the body.

A few things you might want to know...

I graduated with honors from America’s only accredited hypnotherapy college — I’m not just some rando you met on the internet.

I have lived experience with binge eating and you are safe to say anything with me (no shame here!). Even if you binged three packs of peppermint patties immediately before our call.

I don’t just hypnotize you and send you on your way. So much of the real work happens when we build new healthier habits together, and troubleshoot how to choose healthier ways to cope with emotions in the moment.

This is a holistic approach that won’t interfere with any other support you have.

To be honest, there are days when stress and hormonal fluctuations can affect my appetite at times. I even feel numb to my hunger when I’m super stressed, like after long grumpy sardine-packed bus rides or when someone just steams out on you on the streets of NYC. But instead of letting the fastest and easiest fix (aka “chocolate-in-the-face” method) take over, I catch myself quickly and correct my direction.

I return to my self-love routine and continue to nourish my body and mind.

Even on less-than-perfect days, I love myself for who I am. I am proud to be a woman, a mother, a healer, and, most importantly, just me who is not typical of anything! When I look into my daughter’s eyes and kiss her soft cheek, her love-filled giggle and trust in me are my greatest pride.

For me, this work is about having stable energy and a reliable mind that allows joy to exist in everyday life.

"It's Okay if you can't even imagine the future. It will come when you recover and I know it's possible. I can help you to get there too."

・There’s a Japanese concept called Yutori: A psychological space in which one feels a sense of enoughness, ease and well-being. Yutori has emerged in many aspects of my life post recovery.

・I’m a Capricorn, a Human Design Manifestor, and an Enneagram 8 with a 9 wing. "Against all odds" is my favorite phrase.

・I graduated with honors in French Literature, a degree often deemed the most useless of all, but I believe in the power of words. They can be a miracle elixir or poison, depending on how you use them.

・Seeking redemption, I pursued a Master’s in Public Affairs to save the world (which I truly believed back then). I changed my career to pursue my passion for directly serving people’s sufferings instead of frowning at Excel sheets 9-5 daily.

・My high sensitivity found its purpose when I discovered my calling as a hypnotherapist. Creating scripts that touch clients' hearts and souls is music to my ears. Tears are catalytic, and that’s the only kind of drama you need. Who's with me?

・I firmly believe in gentle parenting—it's universal to treat and respect other human beings, not just tiny ones.

・I love to grow and cook food from scratch. I bake sourdough breads and pickle using traditional methods from East to West. Native meadows and treks filled with goodies my daughter collects in her tiny tin can are my natural habitat. Just like nature, art & creativity became my way of living since motherhood. One day, I’d love to have my own backyard with a brood of fluffy chickens.
